The First Step to Discovering Your Life's Purpose
This week's show is a special one for me. You see, my birthday is tomorrow. And I LOVE birthdays! I love that every person gets their very own day to celebrate themselves. And I plan to do just that!
Each year, I take the day off, clear my schedule and do things that make me happy. It could be a massage, a day at the beach, reading by the fire. My only caveat is that it has to be what I want to do.
This year I am celebrating with a family day at Knott's Merry Farm to ride rides and get into the holiday spirit with carolers and fake snow. Hey, it's Southern California - we gotta settle for the fake stuff!
This birthday has got me feeling a bit more introspective. My forty-first year was full of amazing highs and humbling lows. I accomplished something I had only dreamed of (launching my solo podcast) and hitting that goal has inspired me to dream even bigger, go even deeper.
I read recently that the odds of you being born are 1 in 400 trillion. This is the probability of you being born at the time you were born to your particular parents, with your particular genetic make-up. How fucking cool is that??
That statistic really got me thinking about how amazing it is that we exist, just as we are. You are already a miracle, the big lottery winner - straight out of the gate. That's it. You won, Charlie! You won!
As if being alive wasn't enough, we were also gifted unique talents that only we possess. Those talents are the Universe's gift to you and what you do with them is your gift back to the Universe.
My podcast is all about inspiring people to do the damn thing. But what if you aren't sure what your damn thing is? Or maybe you do but you aren't sure how to take steps toward it.
