My Wake-Up Call

Ep 59.png

Often we hear people say that we cannot pour from an empty cup, but we don’t treat it with the seriousness it deserves. Before I transitioned into coaching, I had a full-time job. I gave it my all, and considering that I was running the podcast on the side, my cup ran dry. I was always tired, I had a short temper, but I kept doing it anyway.

To me, everything was okay, and I never got concerned. My wake-up call came when my partner and I went for a counselling session. Work stress came up, and when I was asked if I felt like it was affecting me somehow, I said it didn’t. According to my partner, the work stress had changed my personality. I was always tired and never available because I had things to do. That was my Wake up call.

After the session, I decided it was time for a change. I talked to my boss, and I left that role. I transitioned to coaching. The incredible thing was that I was learning through coaching other women.

I want us to normalize taking care of ourselves. I want us to learn how to make ourselves a priority. We need to get to a point to not feeling guilty for taking care of ourselves.

Listen in to this fantastic episode as I share my wake-up call and mission with you. You never know. This episode could be your Wake up call.

Magical Quotes from the Episode:

“What I love about coaching, is that so often you end up teaching what you need to learn.”

“As you learn to take better care of yourself, hold loving boundaries, have more fun in your life and do the things that you want to do, you’re modelling that for the next generation.”

“If you are constantly giving to others without giving to yourself first, you’re going to have nothing left to give.”
